Come Join the Grand Opening Throw-Down

The Frisco Bike Park Build Crew, in partnership with the Town of Frisco, Colorado, is proud to announce the Frisco Bike Park Grand Opening next Saturday, September 24th 2011.  This project has been a few years in the making, and thanks to the hard work and dedicated efforts of those involved, this dynamic vision has been brought to life. On a site that was recently clear-cut due to pine beetle infestation, a transformation has taken place. That previously disturbed slope has been carefully crafted into a progressive and sustainable bike park facility, catering to any type of rider, beginner or advanced, bmx or mtb.

Frisco Bike Park offers something for everyone. From the top start zone, riders can choose between intermediate and advanced jump trails, or a beginner flow trail. Each of these trails descends into the base area. This lower area features a dedicated dirt jump zone, created with a multitude of line options for all levels of rider. A large pump track is also nestled into the base area, and again, the rider’s creativity here is the only limitation.

Phase one of the park, which opened on July 4th, featured the upper trails in the park, and has been well received by the local riders. We’re stoked to open up the rest on the 24th and finally get riders down in it! Please show Frisco your support next Saturday as we kick things off. The bike park will be free and open to the public all day, with a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m., followed by pump track races, jump jams and to cap it all off, some live rock-reggae in the evening. Come on out and bring your friends for a fun-fueled day of riding trails, boosting jumps, enjoying a cold beverage and grooving to some live music.

Dirt Jump Time

Day in the Dirt Jumps – Frisco Bike Park <—- check out a fresh edit from the park!

Things are rolling right along here at Frisco Bike Park. For the past two weeks the crew has been building out the Dirt Jump Zone at the bottom of the existing jump trails.  This area will be chalk full of more traditional dirt jump style trails, configured for a range of riders from beginner to expert. Here’s the even better news… we’ve set the date for the grand opening throw-down! So mark down September 24th on all your calendars and join us for a fun-fueled day of riding trails, eating food, enjoying a beverage or three… and to top it all off, some live music and a jump jam to crank things up a notch!

To see what we’ve been up to at the park lately, check out the link at the top of the thread for a video edit from the first week in the dirt jumps. Enjoy!

Bring on the Bikes!

It’s official folks… Frisco Bike Park is now open! As of last Saturday, July 2nd, the top trails at Frisco are dialed and ready for riders!

From 12″ Stryder tires… to 20″ bmx… to 26″ mtb tires (and maybe even some 29′ers)… the riders have been out in numbers getting it going… and going big! Thanks to all those who’ve checked out the park, and to those who’ve chimed in on the blog here… we’re stoked that you’re all enjoying the new trails at Frisco!

If you haven’t been out yet, come on out. Right now we’ve got the “Buffalo Run” intermediate jump trail and the “Ten Mile” advanced jump trail open, as well as the “Royal Roller” beginner flow trail. Beginner or not, if you’re a fan of berms, there’s a good chance you’ll dig this run.

These first three trails at Frisco Bike Park are now open from dawn ’till dusk, seven days a week, from spring to fall… as long as the weather allows. The build crew is now resetting sites down at the base of the hill, getting started on the dirt jump and pump track zones. We’re dreaming big for this area, and can’t wait to start sculpting! So… after building out a ton of dirt jumps, progression lines and pump tracks, we’re going to put together a grand opening throw-down this fall. And after that, to cap off the season, a top-to-bottom dual slalom course will be built for all you gate bashers out there!

Stop on by the park next time you’re around and see for yourself, Frisco Bike Park is now open!

Jared - Awesome job, guys. The flow trail has some sick berms, and the intermediate line is really good for learning bigger airs.

Claudia Colley - Looks great Matt. Wish I were young enough and a better body to try the runs. The kids will go wild. Might bring my grandkids out for the next summer. Keep it up.

Time to Ride

Let the countdown begin. Only one more day… and the top trails at Frisco Bike Park will be open and ready for the public shredding.

The crew has been logging the hours for the past few weeks in preparation for the phase 1 opening. We’ll have an intermediate and advanced jump trail ready to go, as well as the freshly buttered “green” flow trail. A good number of these hours logged have been focused on the wood feature posted up at the end of the intermediate jump line. We can’t wait to hear what you all think of this creation…

Starting July 2nd, Frisco Bike Park will be open, available and dialed for the public 7 days a week… if it’s dry, it good to go. With these trails open, the crew will be moving on down the hill and building out the beginner -> expert dirt jump zone, progression lines and pump track trails. We’re shooting for September on the bike park grand opening date.

In the meantime… come on out to the park this Saturday, July 2nd, and don’t forget to bring your bikes. See you then!

willsones - first day was the best for this ten year old

Robin - Had a sweet time today. Thanks again to all those that helped plan, build, and maintain this whole area. I’ve been driving back and forth past this place since last fall not being able to wait for it to open.

Flow Trail

Hey all… here’s a few pics of the “green” flow trail currently being cut in at Frisco. We’ve been pushing hard on site running dirt and carving in some deep berms for everyone to get low on real soon. If you’ve been by the site lately you might have seen the wood feature at the end of the intermediate jump trail. This step up-step down creation should be fully wrapped soon… and should be rideable by beginners and pros alike. Come say what’s up next time you’re in Frisco, and we’ll be announcing the “soft” opening date shortly…

Oh yeah, don’t forget that once we open the top of the hill… we’ll be moving on to the base area constructing the dirt jumps, progression lines, pump tracks, and more! See y’all soon-
